The 2007 Midfield Chamber banquet was held at the Fairfield Civic Center on April 12th. Congressman Artur Davis was our guest speaker.
Seated at the head table were Midfield Court Judge Debra Winston and her husband the Rev. Dr. Charles Winston, who gave the invocation; Mayor Gary Richardson and his wife Willamena; Congressman Artur Davis; and Chamber President Buck Williams with Becky Caudle.
Other special guests in attendance were; Judge Jill Ganus; Judge Ralph Coleman; Judge Tom King; Assistant Tax Accessor, Andy Smith; Midfield City Council members, Velma Johnson, Janice Anderson, Jimmie Robinson, and Reginald Wilson; Mrs. Coleman and the Fairfield Democratic Women; Fairfield Chamber of Commerce President, Ronald DeRamus; and Fairfield Mayor, Michael Johnson.
Supporting the banquet but unable to attend were: Judge Eric Fancher; Bessemer D.A., Arthur Green; Probate Judge, Cindy Butler; Circuit Clerk, Earl Carter; Tax Asessor, Grover Dunn; and Board of Equalization, J.C. Earnest.
Members of the Midfield R.O.T.C. presented the colors.
The Chamber presented Alexis Parker with the Chamber's first "Principal's Scholorship" of $500.
One of three signs honoring Midfield's Girls 4A State Basketball Champions was unvealed. These signs will go at each entrance to Midfield on the Bessemer Super H'wy and at the entrance to High School Road.
Door prize sponsors were; Ala. Power Co., Mutual Savings Credit Union, Piggly Wiggly, D&D Auto Repair, O'Rilley's Auto Parts, Valhalla Funeral Home, Zion Travelers Christian Academy, and Zion Travelers Primitive Bapt. Church.
